Inhabited Landscapes
This ongoing installation (begun in 2001), consists of slices of trees - some painted and some left in their natural state - that echo the patterns of human navigation in a built landscape. Though their diminutive size evokes a sence of intimacy, the arrangement of wood slices depicting settlements throughout the millennia creates a larger system that reads beyond the walls into a larger historical, social and political context.
